JABA Condemns the Hate in Any Form by White Supremacists

LOS ANGELES — The Japanese American Bar Association was founded on and continues its long-standing tradition of standing up against prejudice, bigotry, and racism. Japanese Americans are all too familiar with the open racism and prejudice expressed against it, sometimes in the form of government-sanctioned prejudice such as Executive Order 9066. The events that transpired this past weekend were horrifying, and JABA strongly condemns any form of hate and violence which was perpetrated by White Nationalists, White Supremacists, neo-Nazis and the KKK in Charlottesville, Virginia. In turn, JABA applauds the various groups and leaders who immediately identified and spoke out against these hate groups. Any delayed or nonresponse condones such behavior and is unacceptable from our leaders.
