JABA Foodie Group Event - Chinese New Year Edition at Chengdu Taste

For our first Foodie Group outing of 2015 and to celebrate a (belated) Chinese New Year, we’re heading to the southwestern Chinese providence of Sichuan (Szechuan), courtesy of Chengdu Taste in Alhambra. Known for its abundant use of garlic, chili pepper, and Sichuan peppercorn, this fiery cuisine will set your taste buds ablaze and leave you wanting more. We will be ordering family style to try as many of the unique choices available, like the Toothpick Lamb – cumin-crusted chunks of soft lamb on toothpick skewers – or the Boiled Fish – fresh, flaky fish soaked in spicy sauce. Other favorites include: Diced Rabbit with Younger Sister’s Secret Recipe (as requested by Jonathan Gold), Mung Bean Noodles, and Mapo Tofu. A portion of the meal will be paid for by JABA, so come taste great food and meet your fellow foodie JABA members! Information When: Saturday March 7, 2015 at 11 a.m. No reservations, so please arrive no later than 10:30 a.m. Where: Chengdu Taste, 828 W Valley Blvd., Alhambra, CA 91803. Cost: Dishes range between $11 and $30. The balance of the bill after the JABA subsidy will be split evenly among guests in attendance. Parking: One (1) hour free parking in the front of the restaurant but street parking nearby. Ambiance: Casual and family-friendly, so your friends and family are welcome! Please RSVP to taren.fujimoto@gmail.com by Thursday, March 5, 2015. Hope to see you there!
