JABA members are leaders. Our membership includes law firm partners, corporate counsel, heads of public agencies, elected officials, judicial officers, and law student leaders. Many members are active in bar associations, alumni groups, law student associations, non-profit organizations and civic affairs.
JABA connects members. We provide professional and social networking opportunities with lawyers from different practice groups. JABA sponsors mixers, panels and lectures, and dinners to allow members to build and develop connections and grow their social and professional networks.

JABA recognizes the importance of mentorship and professional development. Our Young Lawyers and Shin Issei groups provide mentoring, professional development events, and informal networking opportunities for law students and young lawyers. Our judicial mentoring program provides guidance to lawyers interested in becoming judicial officers.

JABA is active in the community. We provide pro bono services through our legal clinics, organize a toy drive for needy children, and support non-profit organizations such as the Little Tokyo Service Center, the Asian Pacific American Legal Center, the Go For Broke Foundation, and the Alzheimer’s Association. We also provide scholarships through our JABA Educational Foundation.

JABA members have fun. JABA sponsors mixers, happy hours, and dinners. Our social activities include the JABA Foodie Group, JABA Running Club, and the JABA softball team. We are always looking for new ways to bring our members together through fun and enjoyable activities.
